A 1935 Rolls-Royce Phantom and a 1949 Riley RMC are among the highlights of the Sharjah Old Cars Club and Museum stand at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), where the exhibition runs until 6 September.
The two vehicles, part of the Sharjah Old Cars Museum collection, have attracted considerable interest from vintage car enthusiasts and visitors drawn to heritage and rare collectables.
Their artistic and engineering details reflect the character of automotive design and manufacturing in the first half of the 20th century, while the exhibition offers visitors the opportunity to learn more about vintage car culture and the efforts to preserve it for future generations.
His Excellency Dr Ali Ahmed Abu Al Zoud, Chairman of the Sharjah Old Cars Club, said the Club’s participation reflects its efforts to strengthen its presence at major community and national events and to bring vintage car culture to a wider audience.
“Participating in the Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition extends the Club’s approach to strengthening its presence at major community and national events and to bringing vintage car culture to a wider audience,” he said.
“It also offers an opportunity to promote the Sharjah Old Cars Museum and introduce visitors to some of its most notable exhibits and rare vehicles of significant historical and cultural value.”
Abu Al Zoud said old cars should be seen as more than objects on display. “We regard old cars as part of our cultural and social memory, rather than merely objects for display,” he said. “From this perspective, we are keen for our participation to carry an educational and informative message that connects the public with the history of these vehicles and the developments they witnessed in design, engineering and lifestyles over the decades.”
He said the strong turnout at the stand reflects growing interest in this form of heritage.
The participation is also giving the Club an opportunity to engage with vintage car enthusiasts and owners, exchange expertise, and introduce visitors to the services and programmes offered by the Club and Museum.
The Club’s participation is part of its wider efforts to strengthen its community presence and raise awareness of its activities, programmes and museum collection.
It is also capitalising on the large public attendance at the Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition, one of the region’s major events that brings together enthusiasts of heritage, hobbies and rare collectibles from across the UAE and abroad.
The Sharjah Old Cars Club and Museum welcomes visitors throughout the exhibition at Hall 4, Stand A-005, at ADNEC.
Visitors can also receive a 50 per cent discount on membership throughout the participation period and learn more about the Club’s services, benefits and programmes.
Through its participation, the Club aims to combine knowledge, visual experience and direct engagement with the public, while highlighting vintage and classic cars as living witnesses to important periods in history.
