The Sharjah Old Cars Club (SOCC) has successfully concluded its “A Holiday Reimagined 2026” summer programme, achieving outstanding results across educational, recreational, and community engagement activities.
The closing ceremony took place at the Sharjah Classic Cars Museum headquarters, attended by Dr Ali Ahmed Abu Al Zoud, Chairman of the Sharjah Classic Cars Club, and representatives from government and private-sector entities. The programme's success reflects the vision of the Sharjah Sports Council and the club's Board of Directors to make productive use of the summer holiday by developing young people's skills, strengthening national identity, and promoting experiential learning.
The programme attracted 149 participants across two age groups, comprising 93 juniors and 56 youth participants, who benefited from 60 diverse programmes covering cultural, recreational, sporting, creative, and awareness activities. Participants also took part in 14 specialised workshops, numerous competitions, challenges, and field trips designed to enhance their knowledge, practical skills, and personal development within an integrated educational and recreational environment.
The programme also established a strong network of community partnerships, bringing together 36 government, private, and community organisations, with support from 15 sponsors and collaboration from five additional entities that delivered specialised programmes and enriching experiences, further enhancing the programme's quality and helping to achieve its objectives.
As part of its community engagement efforts, 15 volunteers contributed a total of 1,920 hours, playing a key role in organising and delivering the programme's activities while reinforcing the values of teamwork and volunteerism that the club seeks to promote through its initiatives.
Ahmed Saif bin Handhal, Director of the Sharjah Classic Cars Museum and Chairman of the Organising Committee for the Sharjah Summer Sports Programme, said: "We are proud of the outstanding results achieved by 'Our Holiday Is Different 2026,' which reflect the tremendous efforts throughout the programme and demonstrate the Board of Directors' vision and continued support for delivering a comprehensive summer programme that combines education with entertainment and makes productive use of participants' time to develop their skills and strengthen their values and national identity."
He added that these achievements were the result of the combined efforts of the organising team, volunteers, participating organisations, sponsors, and parents, all of whom played a vital role in the programme's success. He noted that the positive performance indicators and the high level of satisfaction expressed by participants and their families provide strong motivation to continue developing the programme and to introduce even more innovative, high-quality initiatives in the coming years.
Bin Handhal also expressed his sincere appreciation to the Sharjah Sports Council for its continued support, and to all government and private partners, sponsors, collaborators, and volunteers for their valuable contributions. He reaffirmed that the Sharjah Old Cars Club (SOCC) will continue to serve as a community institution, committed to delivering impactful programmes that help build a knowledgeable and creative generation and to strengthening the club's position as a destination that combines culture, heritage, knowledge, and recreation.
The club also assessed the programme's impact through 205 evaluation surveys involving parents, participants, partner organisations, and sponsors to measure satisfaction levels, identify areas for improvement, and use the findings to further enhance future editions.
The programme concluded with the club reaffirming its commitment to continuously developing its summer initiatives and building on this year's achievements to meet participants' and their families' expectations, while further establishing "Our Holiday Is Different" as one of Sharjah's leading summer programmes. It combines enjoyment with meaningful learning, promotes the values of creativity, teamwork, and lifelong learning among younger generations.
