The Sharjah Classic Cars Festival kicked off its second day of panel discussions with a session titled "A Car's Story," featuring Dr Nasser Al-Masari and moderated by journalist Yousef Al-Hammadi. Dr Al-Masari shared a personal account of his journey with automobiles, beginning with his acquisition of his first classic car in 1984 while studying in the United States. At that time, specialised magazines and books were the primary sources for exploring this world.

Sheikh Dr Khalid bin Humaid praised the festival for offering a distinctive experience that blends sporting passion with cultural heritage. He stressed that such events strengthen community identity, raise awareness of industrial heritage, and support initiatives that combine sport with the preservation of historical memory, in line with Sharjah’s vision of promoting culturally and intellectually enriching events.

Its coachwork, crafted by a leading British manufacturer of the era, reflects the meticulous detail and elegance that define this automotive masterpiece.

 Held over five weeks in a structured educational and recreational setting, the programme aims to help participants acquire new skills and engage in a range of cultural, sporting, and technological activities designed to enhance their knowledge and personal development.

This recognition confirms the club’s position as one of the most prominent specialised clubs in the emirate and an inspiring model of institutional work and community engagement.

Four distinguished awards

The club won the "Best Pioneering Club" award among specialised clubs, an achievement that reflects its excellence in innovation and sustainable management of programmes and events specialised in the world of classic cars.

The programme launched with ‘I am creative’ (30 June–3 July), focusing on artistic appreciation, followed by ‘This is Sharjah’ (7–10 July), which included field trips to key Sharjah landmarks. Week three, ‘I am the community’ (14–17 July), promoted values of belonging and responsibility. Week four, ‘I am athletic’ (21–24 July), will emphasise physical and mental fitness, and the programme concludes with ‘I am the future’ (28–31 July), exploring innovation, AI, and future technologies.

A holistic learning and entertainment platform

The pavilion includes interactive activities, such as a visual photo corner narrating the history of classic cars and their role in regional hunting journeys, alongside opportunities for members to renew their club memberships on site. Visitors can also view images pairing the exhibited car with falcons, showcasing an authentic element of Arab hunting heritage.
